Use Office 365 desktop setup to configure your desktop applications and install required updates. Before you run Office 365 desktop setup, be sure that your computer meets the <a title=\"software requirements for Office 365 for business\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.microsoft.com\/en-gb\/article\/software-requirements-for-Office-365-for-business-719254c0-2671-4648-9c84-c6a3d4f3be45\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">software requirements for Office 365 for business<\/a>. <b>Important <\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 If you\u2019ve <a title=\"installed the latest version of Office\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.microsoft.com\/en-gb\/article\/installed-the-latest-version-of-Office-72977511-dfd1-4d8b-856f-405cfb76839c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">installed the latest version of Office<\/a>, you don\u2019t need to perform step 1: Office 365 desktop setup in this article. Your first step is to <a title=\"set up email in Outlook 2013\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.microsoft.com\/en-gb\/article\/set-up-email-in-Outlook-2013-6e27792a-9267-4aa4-8bb6-c84ef146101b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">set up email in Outlook 2013<\/a>. <b>Notes <\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 If you\u2019re using a Mac computer, iPad, Windows RT device or another device, follow these instructions instead:<\/section>\n<section>\n<h2>Step 1: Run Office 365 desktop setup<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><a title=\"Sign in to Office 365\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.microsoft.com\/en-gb\/article\/Sign-in-to-Office-365-e9eb7d51-5430-4929-91ab-6157c5a050b4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sign in to Office 365<\/a> with your work or school account.<\/li>\n<li>Click <b>Software<\/b> &gt; <b>Desktop setup<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>On the <b>Desktop setup<\/b> page, click <b>Set up<\/b>.\n<div class=\"readableLargeImageContainer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Set up your desktop applications to work with Office 365\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/support.content.office.net\/en-US\/media\/07996f23-407f-40b1-96ad-9854681a3b8a.png?w=1140&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Set up your desktop applications to work with Office 365\" \/><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>When you\u2019re asked if you want to run the application, click <b>Run<\/b>, and then follow the instructions.\n<ul>\n<li>During setup, you\u2019ll sign in again with your user ID.<\/li>\n<li>Office 365 desktop setup checks your system configuration, and you\u2019ll see options for configuring your desktop applications. Or your computer may not have the applications installed.<\/li>\n<li>After you select your desktop applications, click <b>Continue<\/b> to finish up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>When the desktop setup finishes, you may need to restart your computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<h2>Step 2: Connect your desktop version of Outlook to Office 365<\/h2>\n<p>After you have run Office 365 desktop setup, <a title=\"connect the desktop version of Outlook\" href=\"https:\/\/support.office.microsoft.com\/en-gb\/article\/connect-the-desktop-version-of-Outlook-a8059189-d5e5-419e-8702-0462e16891e1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">connect the desktop version of Outlook<\/a> that you\u2019re already using to Office 365.
